This is the 8th xoops site of the month contest I’m organizing at xoops factory. We had 145 site-submission during the last nominations and i’m proud to see sooo many great sites made with xoops. I’ve just uploaded the screen-images of the actual nominations and put the voting form online. As always you are invited to browse through the nominations of month march and to vote for your favourite. Play fair and have a look at the examples.

XOOPS Sites: Here we are with the results of January 2006. Not as much votings as we have seen in the last months, but therefore we got not as much spam as we have seen before.
In the comming months i will continue to look for people who want to help reviewing sites and i’m still thinking how to categorize the voting into groups such as “best design”, “best community” and “best content” etc.

Decembers winner is Asian Car Styling with 17 votings. The second place is shared by Anime Kensei and Wanabka with 15 votings each. With 10 votings each the third place is shared by All about MASK and Gooberhead.net (hmmm, … i wish i could be 15 or 20 years younger again …).
Again, there were many good sites! My personal favourite this month was the page of xray-mag.com for its great content and stuff on their page. When i got the nomination for this site it took me some hours to look through the magazine. Nor I’m a diving specialist or too much interested in this topic but the images and stuff were really great. Perhaps some of the guys want to invite me for a week?
I downloaded some of their .pdf documents and began to dive in …
This month it was hard for me, there were many submissions of votings, which could not be counted as valid. From nearly 200 submissions there were just some more than 100 which could be counted. Double votings from same email or IP, mass mailings from same IP range and proxy in a small period are only some aspects i had to put my eyes on. Actually i do not find a better solution to handle this contest. I would really appreciate if one of the module devs will help to create a module to organize and handle such a contest. Why i’m not using a poll modul?
