xoops FACTORY

KuHTML! da better approach for communities? Haha! No! Actually it’s a test with searchengines, nothing more! I registered kuhtml.de domain on 06-11-06, the sixt november 2006, and began to use the word KuHTML in an article on my private homepage and to link to that domain with a PR6 site. Today, 6 days later, there are no new results on key kuhtml.

Right now, I placed a link from a sideblock of xoopsfactory’s startpage (which is actually a PR7) to kuhtml.de in order to see if searchengines will index the new site faster now.

Too much time? Bored? No! it is intended to have a one year view until the 6th november 2007, to see and report what will happen.

While playing with a new layout screen for xoopsfactory I created a theme which will be available for community download after some more tests, actually running static xhtml and wordpress but xoops will follow.

It shows some impressions I made the last weeks while looking for new ideas for some projects. Valid xhtml and css using the basic xf_openWeb xoops theme we can use the new power of all blocks in XOOPS 2.015 up.

It uses different pagetemplates with different blockusage and blocksettings wich will fit XOOPS theming as well as we are used to play with eg. wordpress.

The last few days google seems to sort out things new again. Not only SERPS (Search engine result pages) do change hourly, new domains which are created until the beginning of june and had some backlinks got new pageranks.

Do you care about a good position in SERPS? What are your experiences with searchengines in general? What do you do to achieve your goals? I’m actually looking forward to gather some tips and tricks and some general informations about searchengines to help beginners getting a quick overview how to handle this topic. Not especially hacks while using xoops but general stuff.

Yes, I do love to manage this blog, but the more I hate to delete all this spam every day. There are spam entries within xoops (submit-) forms too, but no comparison to what is caught in my xoopsfactory blog.

Some entries are my own fault, I think, “hair-loss-help-hair-loss-baldness-remedy” is definately because of my photo. Thanks to Akismet, a nice tool to catch Spam within your WordPress. I decided to moderate all of my submissions though, but I’m getting tired of deleting these entries.

Today there are more than 100 post in xoopsfactory’s blog. Since I started this blog in October last year, there were more than 80.000 visitors with more than 250.000 pageviews. Never ever thought to have that much visitors, and it’s fun to gather content for the page. It seems to be a small diary from parts of my work with xoops and stuff.

The more fun it is while seeing XOOPS moving forwards. Actually I’m having fun with the new 2.0.14RC. The feature (the ability) of overwriting modultemplates seems to be a good thing for themedesigner.

This is a screen i made for a relaunch of my studiocreativ.de which might be an example for a small business site using XOOPS. It’s a more personal layout showing a basic body of a person. The logo is still missing, actually I’m working on a pixel logo with a body nearly shown with the layout.

There will be some information about the people behind studioC and some examples of work, forms to contact or to order more detailed information and perhaps a news section. The page isn’t online actually, I will sure inform you when it’s done.

Another nightly screendesign I made for a possible new hokamp.info. Things there should be rearranged for some time now, but I did not find the look and feel until now.

More family stuff and content should be placed there instead of my themes, layouts and things. My personal themes and layouts will sure find a place on this site, but in future most design and layout content will be found here on xoopsfactory.com or on my private static playground openwebdesign.de!

Actually it is only a static [x]HTML file with dummy content but have a look at it. Making static files first, before porting to xoops, is a very nice way to play with themes and layouts.

Do you use AccessKeys on your site? What kind of Keys do you use? There are Pros and Cons to use accesskeys. What about those people who are not able to hit 2 keys at the same time? Do you think a about disabled people accessing your website? Actually I’m working on a Box with Access Keys, which sets the keys but can be used with mouse too.

Beginning to learn html more than 15 years ago it was the time of texteditors. I was no friend of those and was happy to use my first wysiwyg editor some time later, that produced nice output by placing elements on the screen. Images were sliced and filled within tables which were nice to abuse for these positioning things. I was proud to show, what i’ve done, what was the result of my work and what was visible for those who are able to see. And that was ok for that time. …

Just another running screen I made from the xf_colourBlue theme. The CSS of this basic example is relative easy to change and understand.

Here again it is more a layout for a personal than a community site but more and more people are using XOOPS for private or commercial sites.
