xoops theme - xf_hokamp_2007_blue - beta

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

Here I am with a xoops theme version of my “xf_hokamp_2007_blue” which is actually running on my personal weblog as a version for wordpress. This theme is made for xoops gte (>= greater than equal) 2.0.16, XHTML 1.0 Transitional and valid CSS.

xoops theme - xf_hokamp_2007_blue

It’s a “width:770px; centered layout” theme with a right siteblock only. XOOPS left and right blocks will appear in this sidebar when set active. To get a layout without a sidebar for eg. “edituser” or e.g a forum, just go to blockadmin and set no blocks active.

A basic introduction into xoops theming

Friday, September 22nd, 2006

Some days ago I was asked to write “A basic introduction into xoops theming or designing layouts for xoops” for designcontest.net. Subheading: What I would tell when a designer asked me to describe what is different or important creating layouts or themes for xoops.
It was thought to be what it was titled, a basic introduction for those who do not know xoops as well and to give a small overview. Perhaps some of you can use it as well?

changes in smarty output since 2.0.14

Monday, September 11th, 2006

pay attention please Those of you who want to use themes from my downloads may have problems while using XOOPS 2.0.14 or up. The output of < {$xoops_showrblock}> has changed from ‘0′ (zero) to ‘’ (nothing) (:-D)

Some of my (CSS) themes are build to create dynamic classes or mainly ID with smarty output. E.g. if a left and a right block is set active in blockadministration we will have build id=’contentArray0′ (id=’content< {$xoops_lblocks}>< {$xoops_showrblock}>‘). Due to the changes in smarty output up to 2.0.14 the output will be ‘contentArray’. So we have in some cases an ID without matching preferences in stylesheets. To fix this …

xoops theme xf_june_3

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

xf_june_3Some of you found this theme on the theme demo site and I had some requests for this theme, so here it is! It is a varitation of one of my css themes, though, in this case it uses a table to position the basic content. It was a test to avoid unwanted content placement below left blocks on modules which do not use valid xhtml code thus crashing the layout. It was planned to avoid errors while using clearings of floats (which are not there) and tables using inline width of 100% what was causing problems within a floated layout.

xf_openWebLT

Friday, June 16th, 2006

xf_openWebLTMany of my visitors downloaded xf_openWeb but some of them had problems displaying modules like forum or modules which use many tables with width=”100%” or clearing elements. xf_openWeb is a 3 column full width theme using floatings to position things, there was no width set for the centercontent. This has some disadvantages while using preference table width=”100%” within the centercontent. Some browser were not able to calculate the width correct and display the content below the left block or overflow.
