Theme xf_GeminiBlue

Wednesday, April 5th, 2006

xf_GeminiBlueA friend of mine, who is using WordPress with the GeminiBlue theme a long time, asked me if I could port the GeminiBlue theme (from geeksmakemehot.com) to xoops so that he could use a forum and the other nice things I’m able to use with XOOPS within a layout, his visitors are used to.

You can see a live preview following this link.
Link to DOWNLOAD.

For I thought, it would be useful for some other XOOPSers, i asked the original Author, Jennifer Ledbetter, if there is anything against to port this theme. There isn’t. So, here we are. XOOPS isn’t Wordpress so i had to add some stuff to fit our modules, but not that much.

xf_YelloW XOOPS CSS theme

Sunday, March 19th, 2006

xf_YelloW CSS themeAnother CSS variation I made last night. Some changes on css and images to switch layout. This is one of the advantage of CSS layouts.

In this case i’m using some images from openclipart.org and a horizontal CSS dropdown from solardreamstudios.com to make layout idea a bit more interesting.

2halvesI’m actually digging in my backups of themeworks.

The basic screen for this theme I made some time ago but using other colours and blockarrangement. This is a blue version of this which is using some smarty to querry blocksettings. Have a look at it.

download xoops theme xf_colourRed

Saturday, March 11th, 2006

xf_colourRed xf_colourRed is packed and released for download today. I was asked to release this as a download, so here it is. It is a workout on stylesheets of the xf_colourBlue theme. What is more fun than usable is the animated background. Did you ever tried to use animated background-gifs on your sites within stylesheet and background: url(…)? Not all UA support this though. Follow this link for more information and download.

XOOPS xf_ixoops

Sunday, February 26th, 2006

iXOOPSiXOOPS is actually the payground for myXOOPS and XOOPS factory. Here i’m testing and playing with modules and themes in BETA. This is actually playing with the latest download theme from XOOPS factory.com. It’s a varitation of the xf_colour theme, which is very easy to suit to your needs. In this example I switched the blockpositions and placed main content first in source.

CSS themes xf_colourBlue + xf colourLightBlue

Thursday, February 16th, 2006

xf_colourBlueI got some mails in the last days that it will be time to switch to another theme here on xoopsfactory.

Hm, I still like it! Can’t believe it though, normally, some years ago, i switched the themes nearly each week :-) (or more often). I won’t give it away until i had a new one but here is a similar one, a two columned though, but it should be a good example of smarty usage and css stuff. Please, when you want to use these themes, consider to work on your modultemplates and erase html errors and stuff. An unclosed tag may crash a theme, but you sure know what ya doing!?

xoops theme viewer

Sunday, February 12th, 2006

Theme ViewerI had this idea a long time ago, but never found the time to setup a theme viewer site. I read a comment some days ago saying that it is very hard to look for xoops themes and find a page where you can see the different theme examples running.

So i think it will be a good idea for the german support side (but not only for the germans) to have a xoops theme viewer site. We will collect nice theme examples at one place and give the ability to see them running. Just one click to view and another to download.

You are welcome to help me gathering nice theme examples. Please submit your themes to the download-center of myXOOPS

theme idea xf_blix-coloured

Sunday, February 5th, 2006

Ferienland-DeutschlandI’m actually playing with some ideas i had in my head with themes. This example is inspired by the BLIX theme which i learned using WordPress. I made it using my source structure which i have used in the past though but it was easier for my to use my xhtml xoops structure and put some other styles to it.
